Once upon a time an old woman went to the riverside to wash clothes. She then found a peach on the river. She took it home to show her husband. At home, she tried to cut the peach in half, but suddenly a boy just came out. And they called the boy Momotaro. Momotaro grew up and became a powerful boy. But there were devils bothering the villagers and Momotaro decided to fight the devils on the devils’s island.
Momotaro’s mom made special dumplings that can give a human being the power of 100 people. Momotaro took some dumplings with him and left. On the way another fighter, a dog joined him because Momotaro gave them dumplings. A monkey and a bird also joined them on the way to island. They traveled to the devil’s island to fight with the biggest devil. On the island they saw many devils waiting for them. When they met the biggest devil, the dog bit the devil’s leg. The monkey scratched the back of the devil. The bird poked the devil in the eye. Together they beat all devils. They got all the treasure the devils had. The devils also promised not to bother the villagers again. They lived happily ever after.

                Lightning is one of Nature’s most dangerous phenomenon. The average lightning flash could light a 100 watt light bulb for more than three months. The temperature of a lightning bolt may reach 27.760*C which is hotter than the surface of the sun.
            Lightning is not only an outdoor hazard. In houses without adequate lightning protection. It can be dangerous to take a bath or shower. The electric shock could be delivered along the water pipes. There is also  the risk of lightning shocks being transmitted via telephone or plugged in electronics in houses without protection. Thus people who live in these houses should unplug telephones, computers, and televisions during storms, protecting them from damage in case of lightning strike. If that is too much work, It’s much safer to at least install special socket inserts that protect against surges.

Penguins are torpedo shaped, flightless birds that lives in the southern regions of the Earth. Though many people imagine a small, black and white animal when they think of penguins, these birds actually come in a variety of sizes, and some are very colorful.

For example, crested penguins spot a crown of yellow feathers. Blushes of orange and yellow mark the necks of emperor and king penguins. What look light bright yellow, bushy eyebrows adorn the heads of some species, such as the Foirdland, Royal, Snares and rock hopper penguins. The macaroni penguin’s name comes from the chest of yellow feathers on its head, which looks like the 18th century hats of the same name. A light yellow mask covers the face of the yellow eyed penguin around the eyes.

Last Friday, a friend of mine asked me to accompany him to buy a new shirt at a department store. We left home at 03.00 p.m. by motorcycle. As soon as we arrived there, we went to the clothes section. I let him choose one. An hour later, I got bored watching him confused in choosing a shirt. So I left him and went to the cassette counter. Thirty minutes later, I went back to the clothes section but I couldn't find him there. My cell phone was broken so I couldn't call him. I went to the parking area. I saw his motorcycle was there but I couldn't find him. I waited for him for a few moments then finally I gave up and decided to go home.
            When I arrived home, my mother told me that my friend called. She said that he was in the department store looking for me. My mother asked me to come back to the department store. Reluctantly, I walked to the department store and you know what? When I arrived there his motorcycle was not in the parking area. He just went home. I was very tired. There was no other choice, I had to walk home again. When I arrived home, I was so tired. I was very angry but when I saw my friend's broad smile greet me in front of the door, I just could not help laughing

To: All Students of Nine Years
Please note that on the coming camping weekend, we will travel by bus to Wanagama Camping Ground on Saturday at 8 a.m. and return on Sunday at 3 p.m. There are no shops nearby and no main roads. There is a public telephone in the camping ground, but it is only for emergencies.
Tents will be provided but you will need floor mats. You will also need a bag to carry your clothes, a waterproof coat – in case it rains, and a pair of boots as well. Please bring your own plastic plate, spoon and cup and a backpack for emergency equipment. This must include spare clothes, a knife, a torch, a whistle and money for telephone calls.

            Huntington Beach California is known for its 13.7 Km long beach, mild climate, and excellent surfing. They will have a seminar tomorrow. It is in the convention hall. I’ll ask them to sit at the lounge.

            I had a funny experience when I had to catch a train for a meeting with my teacher I have never travelled on a train before. I took an early morning train to where I had to meet my teacher. Then I boarded the train but did no notice the position of my carriage.
            When I got to any destination the train door was locked. it would not open I panicked and forced it to open. I thought there must be something wrong. There was not platform. so I jumped down the train line and had to cross the railway lines to reach the platform. A fast train came from the other direction. I was very shocked, but I felt so lucky that I already reached the platform. 
            After I met my teacher, I told him the story. He explained, if the sign says " please board four rears cars only" it means that the train only has a short platform it's usually used for passengers on wheel chairs or with baby's carriages. I realized I was so stupid but I was realived that I was safe.

“Mr. Tiger,” said the water-buffalo, “Let us see who is stronger. You can bite me three times if you will allow me to butt you three times.”
The tiger agreed. While the tiger sharpened his teeth, the water-buffalo sharpened his horns. The water-buffalo then rolled in the mud and covered himself with leaves. The tiger could not understand why. He asked the water-buffalo but the water-buffalo did not answer him.
“Come, Mr. Tiger,’ the water-buffalo said, “You can bite me first.” The tiger bit him three times but he could not bite through the mud and leaves. The water-buffalo then butted the tiger. With the first butt, he tossed the tiger over his shoulder. With the second butt, he killed him.
After that the farmer treated the buffalo very well. He did not dare call him lazy and useless again.
